We have added two new configuration options for how the main content area of the homepage displays. This is the area that sits between the marquee and the articles mosaic areas in the default layout. The new options were based on feedback that we received after our last redesign and use cases that we've seen since then.
Horizontal action buttons above the main content
Displays the three customizable action buttons horizontally above the main content with each taking the full width.
Horizontal action buttons below the main content
Displays the three customizable action buttons horizontally below the main content with each taking the full width.
More Flexibility
These options can provide visual layouts for use cases where the main content extends beyond the height of the stacked buttons and where the main content field and buttons are meant to provide a continuing journey rather than complimentary displays.
They also give us more flexibility to do more with the main content area without having to sacrifice the buttons, for example:
All Current Options Are Still Available
These new options do not replace the existing options or change how your homepage currently displays. The current options, listed below, are all still available.
No actions buttons
Displays the main content horizontally at the full width.
No main content
Displays the three action buttons horizontally.
No action button or main content
The article mosaic area follows right after the marquee.
Main content and action buttons
By default, when the main content field is populated, it displays side by side with the action buttons. Each areas receives half of the available area.
How can I use these new options?
These options work in a similar way to the different marquee options. We will need to set the configuration that you would like for your site and then site editors can work with the content. Please reach out to us if you would like to try any of these.
