URLs in CHSSWeb

Everything on the web has a URL, a web address. CHSSWeb determines URLs in different ways depending on the type of CHSSWeb content. All of CHSSWeb breaks down into two main types of content. This distinction is strong enough and important enough that it serves as part of the organizational principle behind the CHSSWeb Help site. It is why we have separate top-level navigation elements for Pages and Sections and for Applications.

We refer to core pieces of CHSSWeb functionality that follow set rules and have their own basic URL as Applications. People, Articles, and Events are examples of CHSSWeb applications.

Unlike CHSSWeb Applications, pages and sections do not have an enforced URL structure. Instead, the system builds the URLs based on how you choose to organize your pages and sections.
