Application URLs

Applications in CHSSWeb give you an easy way to manage complicated, structured information. The information you manage and access through CHSSWeb applications consists of many parts and many relationships between individual pieces of information. Who are the people associated with your site? What are the courses you offer and what sections are you offering right now and who are the people teaching those courses? CHSSWeb applications help you answer those questions.

The rules for how the system generates URLs vary from application to application. In general, though, each application has its own home URL, its own starting point. People on your site, for instance, are always available under the url "/people". On the college's site, for instance, you will see all people on the site at https://chss.gmu.edu/people. Because this is an application, those people are available in different ways across the site (across multiple sites, actually) and so there are multiple ways to find them. But you can always find the people at /people and you can always find a particular person via their show page URL, e.g. https://chssweb.gmu.edu/people/dcollie2.

Refer to the individual help sections for each application for details on that application's URLs.
