Adding Blocks to Pages

Until you add a content block to a page, no one will be able to see the content block. First, edit the page to which you wish to add the block.

On that page's edit form, click the Find and Add Content Blocks button to open the content block search form.

Enter a relevant search term in the search terms field. If you wish, you may restrict the search results to blocks originating on the site you are currently editing.

Click the Add button by the relevant content block to add it to your page. This takes effect immediately; there is no need to save the page.

You may continue adding blocks and refining the search or you may close the search by clicking on the small x at the upper right hand of the search box.

Content blocks on a page

When first added to a page, content blocks are set to appear at the bottom of the page. You may change this setting by clicking the yellow Sidebar button. You do not need to save the page for this to take effect.

If you have editing rights on a content block, you may click the Edit Block button to open its edit form in a new tab.

To reorder Content Blocks on the page, click and drag the handle to the left of the block's title. You do not need to save; the sorting takes effect immediately.

To remove a block from the page, click the Remove From Page button and then click the confirmation button. You do not need to save the page; the removal takes place immediately.

Check your work by reviewing the page on the site.

  • Does the heading of the content block make sense when you see it in context?
  • Does it include all the content you wanted? Are the items in the right order?
  • Do all the links work?
  • Are there any typos or misspellings?
