Managing Block Contents
First, find your block. You can find it by:
- Creating a new block. When you save the block, you will be taken to the edit page.
- Navigating through the Content Blocks tools. From the left navigation, click on Resources to expand the resources submenu, then click on Content Blocks. Use the filter, search, and paging tools to find your block, then click the green edit icon to the left of the block.

From the block's edit page, click on the Find and Add Content button to open the content search window.
Enter a search term related to the resource. This might be part of the page name, part of the content's title, or keywords from within the item.
If you wish to restrict the search to a particular content type, choose that item from the dropdown. Otherwise, leave the dropdown blank.
Click submit.
Click the Add button by the relevant content item to add it to your block. This takes effect immediately; there is no need to save the block.
You may continue adding items and refining the search or you may close the search by clicking on the small x at the upper right hand of the search box.
To reorder resources in the Content Block, click and drag the resources. You do not need to save; the sorting takes effect immediately.
If you wish to remove a piece of content from the block, click the remove item button then click the confirmation button in the resulting pop-up. The item will be immediately removed from the block; you do not have to save the block.
If you have edit rights to a piece of content, you may edit it by clicking the relevant green edit link. This will open the associated item's edit form in a new tab.
The options button lets you add or edit text to an individual item in a group. If that item type has variants, the options button also allows you to choose the variant.
People With Titles
When a piece of content can appear on multiple sites is put into a content block, its link in the block always refers back to the item's originating site. However, when associating a person with a content block, if that person has a site title you may choose to associate that person and their title with the block. That will do two things:
- The person's site title will appear after their name
- The person's name will link to the site on which they have the title
When a person has one or more site titles, you will see their titles listed in the search results. Click on the button by the person to add the person without their site title. Click on a button by a title to add the person with that title.
