Maintaining Your Faculty and Staff Listing

The CHSSWeb system updates the people application each night. It adds new people to the system and associates new and existing people with sites. The system does not ever remove a person from a site. To keep your site's list of people accurate, you should review it regularly and remove people who are no longer associated with your site. We suggest you update bios on a regular basis and review your full listing once each semester.

Regular Maintenance

  • Does everyone have a photo?
  • Does everyone have a short bio? (See the count of shy people on your dashboard.)
  • Do all faculty members have research interests?
  • Does everyone have the correct administrative title?
  • Are office hours listed for everyone?

Each Semester

In addition to regular, ongoing updates of individual bios, we suggest that you review your full people listing at least twice a year: two weeks after the beginning of fall and spring semesters. It is best not to do this review immediately before a semester begins or during the first two weeks. During those times, new faculty associations will be working their way into Banner and into the CHSSWeb system. Two weeks into the semester, that process should mostly be complete.

Identify New Emeritus Faculty

When faculty retire, they disappear from the updates we receive from the university's systems. If a faculty member should be listed as Emeritus, please contact the CHSSWeb team.
