Program Pages Best Practices

The program pages are often the first entry point from search engines to your program and have many options for displaying everything both prospective and current students may need or want to know about your program. Learn to utilize your program pages to their fullest extent!

Every program should have at least:

  • Promotional overview text
  • A short description
  • Three to five exemplary student and alumni profiles

Videos that include students and virtual tours are great options to feature your program. Have a great Instagram Reel of or from a student? Create a student profile and add that video to it. Have an overview video or tour of your program? Add it to the overview tab. The opportunities to showcase and promote your program and its people are endless!

Review, and update as needed, your program pages information regularly; we recommend at least in the spring and fall. Are your student and alumni profiles current? Are they compelling? Do they help visitors understand what is unique and powerful about your program?

Are all videos on your program pages current and engaging?

As with any web content, program pages should be rich with keywords and phrases, and must be mobile-friendly and accessible. Review accessibility guidelines and learn more about SEO guidelines.
