Core Faculty

CHSSWeb allows you to designate individual faculty members as core faculty on your site using the site connections tool, but please use this tool with caution. The notion of core faculty is not supported by data in the university's central systems and cannot be maintained automatically; its use is entirely up to each site's managers. If you choose to use this feature, you will need to keep it updated manually. If you designate individual faculty members as core faculty, you risk representing your faculty incorrectly. Please be cautious.

To designate a faculty member as "core faculty," open the site connections tool for that person. Next to the checkbox associating them with your site, you will see a checkbox for indicating that they are core faculty. Check that box, then save your changes.

If you have one or more faculty members designated as "core faculty" on your site, you will see a subnavigation link under faculty in the People application on your site. (If you are not using the People app on your site and wish to preview it, just add "/people" to your site's URL.)
