Editing Program Pages in CHSSWeb: Step by Step

To edit a program page

  • In the right column of CHSSWeb, select "Academics" then "Degree Programs"
  • In the center, select the program you want to edit

Miscellaneous Information 

Email: If this field is completed, it will appear at the bottom of the other contact info from the "Manage Titles" option.  

Manage the program's main contact information using the "Manage Titles" button on the right. If the program also has an email address that interested parties should use, enter it here.

Learn More: If this field is completed, this information will appear under a button in the right column labeled "Learn More."

Information for Current Students: A button labeled "Current Students" will appear in the right column IF an URL is entered in the field in CHSS Web.

Label for Current Students: Enter text here to configure the text on the button "Current Students." For example: "Advising."

Online option URL: If this field is completed, a button labeled "Learn more about the online options" that links to this URL will appear in the right column. 

Careers link: If this field is completed, a button labeled “Careers” that links to this URL will appear in the right column.

Tags: If entered, these terms will activate a search using the tag as the search term.

Degree List Page

While not part of the program page, this information appears on all programs and certificates listing page. Enter info about your program here to appear on all program and listings pages.

Short description for degree list page: This description will appear on the college-level program listings page as description below the program name. 

Medium description for degree list page: This description will appear on the program level listings page as description below the program name.

Scholarships Page 

Scholarships: This is a button that appears in the right column that links to a page with content managed by CHSS Development and Alumni Relations. Contact the CHSS Development and Alumni Relations group regarding updates.


Notification Alerts

Only available to catalog editors and system admins. Contact CHSS Graduate Admissions if you need a notification alert.  


Overview Tab on Program Page

Program blurb: This will appear just above the tabs and below the program header on the Overview page.

Program overview: This is rich text for the program overview page that will appear below the Overview tab and above the Major Map.

Major map: The CHSSWeb Team is working with departments on an ongoing basis to set up this table that will appear on the Overview page, below the Program Overview text.

Opportunities: This appears as rich text below a header that reads Opportunities, just below the Major Map on the Overview page and will appear at the top of the Meet a Student page.

Careers: This is rich-text that will appear as an introduction on the Meet and Alum tab.

Why Mason?: If this is left blank and the button is enabled by the CHSS Web Team, the "Why Mason?" button in the right column will link to a page that will display college-level text. Programs are encouraged to add program-specific content about why Mason is a great place to study that discipline which will replace the standard language on the program’s "Why Mason?" page.

Additional text: This is a rich text field that will appear on the right column below any buttons.

Manage Titles

You can select a title and person from an existing list of titles and profiles that will appear in the right column under the Additional text entered, as the person’s title and name (linking to their email).
