Show Events on Other Pages

You can configure most page templates to display upcoming and/or past events. Events can be displayed in the main body of a page or in the sidebar. 

Sidebar Display

To display upcoming events:

  1. In left navigation, click on "Pages".
  2. Find the page in the list and click on the edit icon.
  3. Click on the arrow on the right to expand the Template Settings box.
  4. Check the Display Upcoming Events box.
  5. Save.
  6. View the page on the site to see how the sidebar appears on the page.

To display past events:

  1. In left navigation, click on "Pages".
  2. Find the page in the list and click on the edit icon.
  3. Click on the arrow on the right to expand the Template Settings box.
  4. Check the Display Past Events box.
  5. Save.
  6. View the page on the site to see how the sidebar appears on the page.

Both upcoming and past events will respect other event display configuration settings. For instance, if you have an event category selected, both upcoming and past events will be selected from events within that category.

Main Content Display

When an Event Category is selected and no events are manually associated with a page, events from within that category will be displayed in the main content area unless the "Display Upcoming Events" box or the "Display Past Events" box is checked. If either is checked, the category display will apply to the sidebar, configured by those options.

To search for and associate events:

  1. In left navigation, click on "Pages".
  2. Find the page in the list and click on the edit icon.
  3. Scroll down to the "Associate Events" tool.
  4. Type in a search term to search for events on your site to add.
  5. Associate an event by clicking the blue "plus" icon.
  6. Repeat until you have added all the events you want to add.
  7. Save.
  8. View the page on the site to see the events displayed on your page.

To display events by category:

This option assumes Event Categories are being used on your site. This option will display the 20 most recent events within a category by default. You can also configure a limit using the "Number of events to feature on the homepage" field.

  1. In left navigation, click on "Pages". 
  2. Find the page in the list and click on the edit icon. 
  3. Click on the arrow on the right to expand the Template Settings box.
  4. Select an Event Category from the "Event Category" dropdown list.
  5. Ensure that neither the "Display Events" or "Display Past Events" boxes are checked.
  6. Save. 
  7. View the page on the site to see the events displayed on your page.
